Rapper and Grammy-Award winning music producer, The Dream, who has worked with top artists like Beyonce, Jay-Z, Mariah Carey, Usher, Mary J. Blige, Kanye West, Chris Brown and more, dropped by New York City’s Power 105.1s “The Breakfast Club” this morning to chat about his future projects while defending Beyonce and her controversial “Bow Down” single.
The rapper, who was rumored to be collaborating on singer Keyshia Cole’s upcoming album, is now refusing to work with Cole after she dissed Beyonce’s single.
Here’s what he had to say:
“I’ve already done records with Keyshia but right now because of what happened I can’t. I think she’ll have to respect why I can’t. That’s my family…you talking about my family you can’t do that”.
I think she said exactly what she wanted to say. When you’re at the top and you’re the pop icon of this culture…she got something off her chest she wanted to.”
Cole also responded to The Dream’s comments via Twitter with:
“Dream not writing any songs for me is fine, I’m on my 6th album… He’s only wrote 1 song on 1 of my albums, which i did love, God Bless”.
