Female Bombers Attack IDPs, Gunned Down By Troops

Acting Director, Army Public Relations, Col. Sani Usman

While suffering from the shock of being displaced from their houses by the aftermath of various bomb explosions, internally displaced persons in a camp at the outskirts of Monguno town in Borno State were visited by 3 female bombers.

The attack was scheduled to hit the IDPs fetching water at a borehole. Before they could get too close though, the 3 bombers were gunned down by troops of the Nigerian Military who were on high alert.

The shooting detonated the bombs around their bodies though, leaving two civilians wounded from the blast. A statement from the Acting Director, Army Public Relations, Col. Sani Usman said that the injured civilians were given treatment immediately at the 8 Task force Divisions medical facility.

the third bomber, however was said to have followed another route and detonated her bomb some distance from the troops.

The area was condoned and sealed while the troops did and are still doing their best to make the area more secure. We say kudos to these troops who are far from their families, risking their lives for their country.
