Rio Olympics Update: Dream Team VI keeps Hope Alive

It’s day six at the Olympics and here are a few updates on the Nigerian contingents.

  • In football, Dream Team lost 2-0 to Colombia on Wednesday. The team still qualified for the quarter-finals after defeating Japan and Sweden earlier. And will face Denmark in the next round to advance further.
  • Mikel Obi, the Dream Team VI captain, has hopes of clinching gold in football. He see this as the only worthy compensation for missing the opening ceremony
  • Jonathan Akinyemi is out of the canoeing event after placing 20th in a field of 21 on Wednesday.
