Recession: Should Ministers’ Salaries be Reduced?

Tough times require touch measures.

Pundits and policy makers are looking for ways to shore-up the Naira in the face of the economic recession.

The economic team headed by the Vice-President prescribed the sale of national assets in order to balance the budget deficit. But a cross-section of Labour unions kicked against it.

Recently, the Senate also said it was against such move.

One such pundit, is Channel TV’s head of Business News, Boason Omofaye.

And he prescribes that salaries of Ministers should be reduced. It turned into a debate when Dr Joe Abah,‎Director General at Bureau of Public Service Reforms, countered the suggestion.
