The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) dismissed 17 junior officers for varying offences.
The offences include drug addiction, certificate forgery, theft and absenteeism.
This was made known in a statement by NCS’s spokesman, Mr Wale Adeniyi, Guardian reports.
“Seventeen (17) junior officers of the NCS have been dismissed from the service for offences ranging from drug addiction, certificate forgery, theft and absence from duty from Jan. to Sept. 2016,” he says.
“These disciplinary measures were taken after series of investigations and deliberations by the disciplinary committee and recommendations were made to the management,” he adds.
Adeniyi also mentions that the NCS is also investigating offences committed by senior officers. And they will face the same fate if found guilty.
