WCW: Nse Ikpe Etim

Nse Ikpe Etim is a multiple award winning female actress whose interpretation of roles in movies is unique and one of a kind. She has therefore shown she has what it takes to be among the top actresses in Nigeria.

Early Life/Education
Nse was born on 21 October,1974 in Akwa Ibom. She attended Awa Nursery School and Command Primary School in Kaduna State, St Louis College Jos, Federal Government College(Jos and Ilorin).She said that her family was often transferred to various regions of Nigeria due to her father’s career with the Central Bank of Nigeria. While in secondary school, she was actively involved in sports (Basketball and Volleyball) and social activities; and was known for her eloquence, dedication and determination. She had her Television break at the age of 18 when she anchored a show on Nigerian Television Authority (NTA). Nse also went into the pageant world and won several crowns. She graduated from the University of Calabar where she studied theater arts and gave outstanding performances on stage.

Career
At 18, Nse started acting on stage at the university but after graduation, she took a break from acting to work in the Banking and Business sectors. She also went into the fashion industry and improved her culinary skills. Her first television appearance was in the family soap
Inheritance .
Her major comeback into the movie industry was with Emem Isong’s
Reloaded in 2008 where she starred alongside Ramsey Nouah, Rita Dominic and Desmond Elliot.She followed it up with Mr and Mrs in 2011. These two movies shot Nse into limelight and stamped her name as one of the actresses to watch out for.

Nse has acted in numerous movies such as Reloaded, Guilty Pleasures, Kiss and Tell, The Meeting, Mr and Mrs, Phone Swap, Broken,Journey tos Self, Black November to mention but a few.

She has been nominated in 5th and 8th Edition of the Africa Movie Academy Awards (Best Actress in a lead role), ZaFaa Awards ( Actress in a Supporting Role)and Eloy Awards (Actress of the Year) in 2011, Best of Nollywood Awards (Best Actress in a supporting role)and 17th Africa Film Awards (Best Actress in a supporting role) 2012, City People Entertainment Awards (Best Actress of the Year)in 2013, Golden Icons Academy Movie Awards in 2013 and 2014 (Best Actress) and (Best Actress in a Lead Role), Nigeria Entertainment Awards in 2013 and 2014 (Best Supporting Actress in a film) and (Best Actress in a Lead role).

Personal Life


At 39, she got married to her childhood friend Clifford Sule on February 14, 2013 at a Lagos registry followed by a traditional wedding ceremony in her hometown of Akwa Ibom State some months after the civil union. She currently resides in London with her husband, a Senior Lecturer at Middlesex University .
Nse is a fan of Manchester United FC and in her spare time, she loves to read, write, cook, watch football and play scrabble.
