Safely Lighten Dark Knuckles and Other Dark Areas of the Body

Getting an even skin tone is always a priority in skincare. No one admires a skin with dark patches or discoloration. The unsightly appearance of some parts of the body such as; dark knuckles, dark armpit, and dark knees, has become a source of worry to most women. Here’s how to deal with it.

I.    Let potatoes help you: Potatoes aren’t just for eating they are good natural lightening agents. Wash, peel and cut some potatoes, blend to extract the juice. If you have a juicer use it instead. If you used a blender remove blended potatoes, put in a clean cloth, preferably a handkerchief. Wring the juice out.

Apply with a cotton ball on the area and let it sit for 30 minutes, then rinse. Alternatively, you could cut the potato and rub on your skin, but the first option is better.

II.    Use some lemon: Squeeze the juice out of a fresh lemon, add some sugar to it to form a paste. Gently scrub the dark areas for 5-10 minutes, rinse afterward. Get another lemon, squeeze the juice, add unsweetened yogurt, mix properly and apply on the affected part. Thirty minutes later, rinse it.

III.    Cucumber, Watermelon, and Rice water: boil rice without salt for 20 minutes. Drain the water from the rice, set aside and allow it to cool. Grate some cucumber or extract the juice, mix the cool rice water, cucumber juice/grated watermelon juice. Use it on the areas you want to lighten. Rinse it after 30 minutes.

For best results use the lemon and sugar scrub before applying any of these treatments. Also, to make the remedy penetrate the skin well, clench your fist before rubbing it on your knuckles and sit down when it’s time to use it on your knees.(Eskimi)
