Prevent scalp infections

There are a few simple things that you can do to help prevent a scalp infection from occurring. They include maintaining a healthy and clean scalp and treating scalp lesions immediately. Furthermore, avoid sharing combs, hats and towels as these items may carry bacteria from another sufferer.

Always see your doctor if you are concerned about the health of your scalp or if you experience any of the following: pus-filled blisters that break open and crust over, large swollen bumps or mass, pain or tenderness, scaly or bald patches, red and inflamed skin, a burning sensation on the scalp or if you see either clusters of small red bumps/ white headed pimples around the hair follicles. Your doctor will prescribe suitable treatment based on the severity of the condition.(All4Women)
