The aluminium compounds used in many antiperspirant deodorant products may be a cause of cancer. This means that by using these products daily, you’re risking your health. Here are some great natural alternatives that aren’t harmful.
1. Apple Cider Vinegar
Apple cider vinegar is a great alternative to deodorant, and it won’t darken your armpits. It’s great for neutralising offensive odours. Mix ½ apple cider vinegar with ½ water. Dip a cotton ball in the mixture and rub it under your arms. It will dry pretty quickly, about 20-30 seconds. The smell of vinegar goes away after it dries on your skin.
2. Aloe Vera
Aloe Vera is great for people with sensitive skin. It is very soothing and contains antibacterial and antimicrobial properties which are what causes body odour. All you need to do is apply aloe vera gel to your underarms.
3. Lemon or lime
Lemon and lime contain citric acid which has antibacterial properties. All you need to do is soak some cotton wool in lemon juice and wipe it under your arms.
4. Coconut Oil
Coconut Oil is also great for combating bad odours. To apply the coconut oil, take about ¼ teaspoon or even less and rub it under your arms.
Cornstarch is a gentle antiperspirant. It deodorizes and absorbs moisture on the skin. To make it stronger, add some baking soda. To apply, rub some cornstarch under your arms with your fingers.
6. Milk of Magnesia
Milk of Magnesia is great at deodorizing and absorbing moisture. It’s really cheap, and you just have to use small. To use, pour about ½ teaspoon of liquid milk of magnesia onto a cotton ball and rub under your arms.
