New Super Eagles invitee Bryan Idowu has spoken of his delight at being involved with the Nigerian team and he is hoping to stay with the team for a ‘long time’.
The Amkar Perm defender was initially on the standby list, but had to be upgraded to the main list after several players pulled out of the games against Algeria and Argentina through injuries.
Idowu, whose father is Nigerian and mother half Russian, plays mostly at leftback.
He told the NFF official Twitter handle: “I’m happy to be here, invited to the Super Eagles, I will do my best take this chance and be with the squad for a long time.
“I will support and help the team in any way I can.
“I’m very excited because this is a great opportunity.
“I hope to bring joy and excitement to all Nigerian fans.” (Fcnaija)
